Our philosophy and the methods we employ in executing the works within a project has been the key to our success and growth over the years. Customer satisfaction and a commitment to quality are the key elements in this philosophy and this starts with you, the client, understanding our proposals, quotations / estimates, which reflect our interpretation of your requirements. To assist our clients in assessing "what is included" and what is considered to be outside the terms of our proposal / specification (unless specifically agreed or stated), the following list endeavours to make clear:- |
|
As stated in our quotations, estimates and proposals; all necessary planning, supply of equipment and labour to execute the work, commissioning to your satisfaction in line with the relevant rules and codes of practice specified in our document.
All ancillary equipment such as ladders, towers, trestles, power tools, 110 volt supplies (provided mains electricity exists on site within a reasonable distance) safety and protective equipment for our engineers and your premises.
All minor building works in the execution of our work including the making good of such works where applicable.
The equipment and materials we intend to use for the execution of these works are considered to be "industry standard" and in most cases will be of UK design and manufacture by companies who operate and are generally certified to BS\EN ISO9000 or equivalent.
A fully comprehensive warranty including parts and labour for one year from the date of commissioning or handover. This warranty is conditional upon minimum service being carried out at intervals recommended by the manufacturers or the relevant code of practice. This does not preclude any suitably qualified person or company from carrying out this work. Extended warranties are available, but conditional upon minimum recommended service being carried out by Impulse Engineering Limited; fixed cost ag reements for up to five years are available upon request.
Our staff are generally full time employees of the company, qualified to a high standard in the various disciplines required. We employ a small number of freelance and self employed staff from time to time; these staff will occasionally work with us on various elements of a project, but we never sub contract complete projects.
We will carry out all testing recommended by the current edition of the Institute of Electrical Engineers, Regulations For Electrical Installations (16th edition) and British Standard codes of practice, the extent of our testing will be limited to the works we have been contracted to carry out, we cannot accept responsibility for whole electrical installations that exist in buildings prior to the commencement of our work. We would welcome your instruction (and purchase order) to carry out a complet e inspection and test of the electrical installation and would provide a full written report on its condition.
Impulse Engineering in common with most, if not all other companies, will at some time encounter equipment failure or experience fallibility by our engineering staff; our strength is that we endeavour to make these occasions few and far between; but, should this situation occur we will do everything that is reasonably within our control to rectify the situation.
Unless otherwise stated in our quotation or proposals:-
Major building works such as core drilling, this would normally be carried out by the client / external specialist contractor; if we have undertaken this type of work within our quotation or proposal the work would be carried out by a specialist contractor (details on application).
Redecoration to a specific standard, we would consider applying a coat of undercoat or similar paint (if requested) as reasonable within the term making good, but we cannot be responsible for redecoration works required outside of this statement; we would not cause any damage to existing decoration without seeking prior consent to carry out such works.
We consider that absolute liability is not part of our contract with you; the systems we supply and install are generally of low cost in comparison to the responsibilities and consequent liabilities, we therefore strongly recommend that all risks usually covered by your insurers, should continue to be borne by them.
Delays outside of our control; we consider that it is reasonable to charge for the loss of working time due to delays outside of our control but within the control of the customer. However, we understand that these can occur occasionally and although we would expect our engineers to record this time, we have never charged for the odd hour.
Work carried out during the hours that are considered to be "out of normal working hours", we consider that it is reasonable to charge extra for any work carried out during these hours, our engineering and support staff are always willing to accommodate these situations, but we incur additional costs in providing this service.
The sealing of any enclosure that forms part of a gaseous extinguishing system.
