Our network infrastructure & communications
We operate our business network using Novell® & Windows 2000 server. Netware™ and IntranetWare™ are more immune to external attack and malicious code. All main file serves run Raid disk / data protection. Automatic data backup takes place daily and critical copies are held off site.
All servers and telephony systems are protected from power failure by UPS systems. Our land lines are supplemented by a fixed GSM connection and we communicate efficiently with our field staff by server based SMS.
We track the whereabouts of our field service vehicles using Siemens DataTrack. This server based realtime system enables us to determine the exact (within 10 metres or so) position of our vehicles.
Our mail servers and dial in host servers are protected from the internet by NAT (network address translation) and firewall software. Current versions of antivirus software are in operation.
If we hold your data and its likely we do in some format. Its very safe.
